Frequently Asked Questions

What skills are needed to enroll on a course?

Most of our courses require little or no previous knowledge so are ideal for complete beginners. Where there are prerequisites you will be required to submit copies of your certificates with your Learner Portfolio (LAP).

What’s the difference between online learning and blended learning?

With Online Learning, all of your qualification is completed online via our interactive online academy. You will have full tutor support via email. With Blended Learning you complete all theory components online and then attend live Practical Training days delivered by an experienced Tutor.

If I choose online learning, what software do I need?

eLearning system requirements: You will need access to a computer or laptop. You will need Adobe Flash Player® installed on your computer, which can be downloaded free of charge from the Adobe website. You will also need to ensure your computer is able to play sound as some of the videos include audio.

Is there a time limit to complete the course?

Our courses have a 1 year time limit for completion. This will allow you to work at your own pace, without any strict deadlines.

If I choose online learning, when does the course start?

Unlike regular colleges and learning institutions, online learning has no term dates and is designed to be completely flexible for each student. As soon as you have been registered and received your e-learning login details, you can start your course and can then study at your own pace.

When will I receive my course materials?

Online students will receive course materials once your registration has been processed. All other students will receive their course materials on the first day of the course. As soon as you receive your materials you may start your course.

What’s included in the cost of the course?

All of our qualifications include course registration, certification and initial exam fees. Theory paper re-sits and Practical Assessment re-sits will incur additional charges. After one year, if you have not completed your course and wish to re-register, a fee of £150 will be payable.

What do I do if I need help?

You will be allocated a tutor who will be contactable by email. They will advise and guide you when you require support throughout the course. They will assess your work and help you improve your skills.

Is there a required reading list?

Most of our courses do not require you to study from any additional textbooks.

Do I need to sit an exam?

Most of our courses are designed to be assessed through a combination of coursework and practical assessment days. Some of our qualifications will also require you to sit a multiple choice exam in order to complete the qualification.

How do I get my course work assessed?

Every online student will receive their LAP (Learner Achievement Portfolio) via the online learning platform. You will then submit completed work to your tutor via email before your final practical assessment date.

How do I pay for my course?
